Optimizing push feed crosscutting saws, designed for programmable and repetitive cutting from standard and / or random lengths of timber. The saw unit has a pneumatic upstroke action with variable speed control, while the pusher / feed is fitted with a heavy duty rack and pinion drive feeding system for fast positioning giving a high level of repeat cutting accuracy. The saw unit and clamping area is totally enclosed by a clear hinged electrically interlocked hood that while giving the operator a clear view of the cutting area still gives complete protection. The in feed and out-feed tables are of all steel construction meaning even heavy sections or packs of timber can be processed. For additional operator safety the rear of the pusher system is guarded, while there is a full length safety pull cord on the front in feed table. The Elco TOP 12 industrial control unit, specifically designed and built for industrial automation, with simple programming and operator interface. The clear 12″ touchscreen display allows storing and running cutting lists at a push of a button. As standard the machine now offers USB, Ethernet and 3 levels of optimization including “board sequence” ideal for repetitive cutting. The Matrix OPTI version offers an additional 3 optimization criteria including “minimum waste” and automatic board length measuring suitable for random length boards. The Matrix DEFECT version offers all optimization criteria, length measuring, a defect removal camera and timber grading. Options for all models include pneumatic side pressure, extended out feed table and inkjet printing.
